Relocate-able

Regardless of the whether you rent or own, moving typically involves the same actions:

  • Stuff:
The amount of stuff that most people accumulate, depends on their ability to store it when they are not using it.
  • Pack:
When you want to relocate your place of residence, your only option is to pack up your possessions and move.
  • Unpack:
When you arrive at your new location, everything must be unpacked and stored in its new location.
  • Movers:
In most cases you will need to recruite some friends or family, then rent a truck to move your stuff. You could hire a moving company, but this is typically a big expense that many people look to avoid.

Tiny Homes

Pros

  • Tiny home living requires that the owner(s) are constantly aware of the items they own, as tiny house storage is at a premium.
  • When tiny homeowners move, they ensure that all items are stored in a way that they will not get damaged when the house is in transit, then they move the house and contents.
  • Setup at the new location is a matter of connecting to services and putting the items “packed” for the move, back in the “living” configuration.

Cons

  • You can store less stuff in a tiny house.
  • There is less space for clothes and shoes in a tiny house.
  • If you don’t own a truck capable of moving your tiny home, you will need to hire a tow truck to move it for you.
